We have two more ways for you to stay connected and hang out with Twisted Silver:  Instagram and GetGlue!

Instagram is a free iPhone app that allows you to snap pictures and throw on amazing vintage filtered effects to “transform everyday moments into works of art you’ll want to share with friends and family.”  If you have Instagram on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, follow the pictures of jewelry that we post @twistedsilver.  If you don’t have an iWhatever, don’t worry.  We’re also posting some of the images on our Facebook page and Twitter feed and Tumblr and Pinterest.

GetGlue is a totally fun social network entirely based on entertainment.  Users “check in” to what TV show or movie they are watching, book they are reading or video game they are playing.  Other users can join in on the conversation, as if we were all sitting on a virtual couch and eating popcorn together.  (The “getting glue” part is because you earn stickers when you check in, which is hilarious.)  Come hang out with Twisted and watch Once Upon a Time, Grimm, Alcatraz and more live (although sometimes DVRed).  We lean to fashion commentary of course, but it’s mostly just pure fun.  Find us on GetGlue as “TwistedSilver”

There were some answers that provoked a “huh??” moment for us like “a barn” and “a bouquet of pens”.  There were flat out funny ones like “zombie movies and ice cream” and there were lots of exhausted moms dreaming of massages and nights out.  However, Holly (@VeryDefinitely on Twitter) pulled in all her fave Twisted pieces… with a hilarious ending.

CONTEST #2… The lamest Valentine’s gift a man could give a woman is …

Shower heads, slim fast shakes, vacuums, wood-grain toilet seats and used name-crossed-out greeting cards??  Oh my, this contest was hilariously painful!  It was a tough choice, but we have to admit that  Janet Ahmed beat them all by a mile when she got…

 ”A proposal…..WHILE he was sitting on the toilet holding a FedEx box which had the engagement ring (he hadn’t even opened the FedEx box to see if the ring turned out ok)!! So he hands me the box…..still not getting off the toilet…..and proposes! And yes, I did marry him anyway. At least he wasn’t pooping when he asked!”

CONTEST #3… On Valentine’s Day, I will be wearing Twisted and…

Wow! Responses like … a smile, nothing else, lip gloss, smears of chocolate…  Oh yeah, Twisted ladies will be really enjoying their Valentine’s day this year!  The one that made us proud was our winner,  Patricia Dufek, who said:

CONTEST #5 … If my sweetie gets me Twisted this Valentine’s Day, he can totally expect…

Twisted ladies are ready to bargain, folks.  They’re willing to pick up dog poop, buy cheap pizza and beer, and offer their eternal love.  Maybe it’s because this contest went live in the final hour, but Arany Uthayakumar’s  response had us giggling hysterically.  I mean, I’m still laughing just typing it.  I’m totally picturing a big ole Subway sandwich going, “Oh, you do look MARVELOUS today, did you do something different with your hair?”  Here’s what she commented:

You know, getting all your holiday shopping done before Halloween just isn’t in the grand scheme of things for all of us.  No judgement whatsoever!  If you (ahem, like me) are in the waiting-to-the-last-minute boat, here are some helpful Twisted deadlines to know if you want your order to arrive by 12/24:

1.  Place REGULAR GROUND shipping orders by 12/17.  This includes if you are scooping up one of Deb’s Daily Deals and using the free shipping code “Daily Deal”

2.  If it’s 12/21, go with Express 2-3 day shipping.

3.  If it’s 12/23, go with Overnight shipping.

For most of us, the holiday season is a joyous and fun time with family and friends.  Sadly, for two families close to Twisted Silver, this Christmas will be unbelievably difficult.  Our hearts go out to the Johansen’s and the Carter’s.  In this time of giving, if you have a little extra, please consider helping these two families: 

Jared Alan Johansen, husband of Twisted Silver model, Tiffany, unexpectedly passed away in his sleep early Wednesday morning November 30, 2011 at his home in Pleasanton, California.  He was 27 years old.  He is survived by his two infant daughters, 17 month old Reese and Jaclyn who is due to arrive in January.  If you feel moved to donate any amount towards the girls’ college funds, you may do so here.

Additionally, a portion of proceeds from Twisted Silver’s Bubbles bracelets (in brass or silver) will go to the Johansen family.

Ashton Carter, a boy who goes to school with Twisted staff members’ children, was suddenly and unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare, aggressive bone cancer in October.  Ashton went from being a happy, energetic kid who happened to have an alleged sprained knee, to a boy in pain in a wheelchair.  A tumor was found on his bone and their lives changed forever.  Ashton’s parents, Kristine and Matt, are in need of funds to offset time they’ve missed from work and for additional expenses not covered by their insurance.  If you would like to help the Carter family, you can donate here
