As we get ready to say hasta luego to 2009, lets take a look at what trends designer Deb are picking as sure dominate 2010… with a little sneaky peek of the flavor of the Twisted Silver’s new line:
Statement and strong pieces will lead the trends in 2010, especially funky, mismatched and eclectic combinations. Vintage jewelry will also play into the mix. Multi-strand layers and bib necklaces were all over fashion week and will be a strong continuing trend. Watch for the choker/long necklace combos. The stacked bracelets and cuffs will still carry over into 2010. Although precious metals will always have their place, base metals such as brass, matte silver and copper will continue to be the trend setter and will even begin to make a trek into mainstream choices. (See! Twisted is always a couple years ahead of the trends.)
We’ll be seeing more streamlined riding boots and lace up shoes. Knee-high socks and over-the-knee socks are a trend that will transition from winter to spring easily… and practically as the weather changes! We’ll also continue to see bright colored and patterned tights and stirrups. Watch for a layered look of tall socks over tights with skirts or denim shorts.
Masculine apparel for women is still going strong, and blazers with cuffed sleeves will be the perfect touch as the weather turns warmer and are perfect for showing off your stack of bracelets!
We saw a bit of the jumpsuit trend last summer, but it still hasn’t peaked just yet. Watch for uni-suits, rompers, and jumpsuits to make a comeback, along with simple layerable pieces – think UNITS from the eighties. Remember that store?
Layered, Sheer Fabric
Sheer fabric will be a sign of spring, especially flowing breezy layers. Lengths of see-thru fabric over skirts and blousy sleeves will be perfectly on-trend as the warm sun returns to the skies. Vintage sheers, rayon, mesh, organza, cotton and silk voile will all come into play.
Twisted Silver Spring/Summer Line
How sneaky are we to just kinda tack on this sneak peek all the way at the end of the post? You’re among the elite group of scroller-downers!
Twisted Silver’s new line will be called RENEGADE TRIP and it has a collected feel of your funky wardrobe at the end of a crazy cross country road trip with friends. You know the one I mean. That last minute road trip on a tight budget comprised of lots of cheap but eccentric motels, delicious food from local hole-in-the-wall eateries. High end fashion on the radar, but the buying power at thrift and antique stores found across state lines was intoxicating. Your wardrobe at the end of the trip included a tan and blonde streaky hair, Huarache sandals, super huge turquoise medallion necklace, LOTS of silver bangles, long linen tunics with small pearl insets, a funky straw cowboy hat, vintage wide band rhinestone studded rings, a tiny distressed leather belt, and always a super large woven slouch bag. Uber unique, eclectic and each piece saturated with the souvenir memories of your adventures. By the end of the trip, your attitude had transformed into one of a carefree wanderer — all to be dashed seconds after arriving home to reminders of work schedules and dress codes, responsibilities.
Look for RENEGADE TRIP designs to be about collections and texture and layers in sophisticated eccentricity. We can’t release any pictures just yet, but believe me when I say it’s KILLING US not too!
