A Twisted Spring: Blooming Florals

Spring just wouldn’t be spring without florals.  This season riotous floral prints are blooming everywhere — even layering multi-prints together.  Whether you are daring to blend your flowery prints or if you’re of a more budding variety, florals command a statement in themselves. Keep the jewelry non-competitive, yet enough strong enough to hold it’s own.

Twisted picks? Delicate lacy Diva earrings.  Also try a big statement metallic ring like Sunshine or Vibe.

A Rosie Spring Inspiration

Today we have a special treat of a guest blogger, Rosie Jarman from Oh So Rosie.  Rosie is a long-time friend of Twisted Silver designer, Deb Mitchell, and also one of the five hand-picked bloggers for Nordstrom’s BP Fashion Board Blog.  Last fall, Rosie was selected to attend Teen Vogue Fashion University, a seminar and workshop series where she traveled to NYC to learn from fashion icons like Anna Wintour and Vera Wang.  Rosie is definitely a lady to watch, so be sure to follow both of her blogs.

But for right now, here’s Rosie with her spring inspiration and Twisted Silver faves:

I’m Rosie, visiting from my blog Oh So Rosie, and I’ve been so lucky as to get to write a little guest post for you! I’ve known Debbie for as long as I can remember in our little hometown of Pleasanton, CA, and have always admired her style but especially what a neat and kind person she is! It’s been so fun to get work with her years later now, and I love Twisted Silver and the unique brand they’ve created, so this is such a treat!

This spring I’ve been inspired by bohemian looks with a folksy twist. Part hippie, part country girl, part boho chic, I’m looking forward to wearing long white dresses in linens and eyelets with chunky hiking boots, plaid shirts, and suede details (look here for a full run-down of what I’ve been dreaming about for spring.) Luckily, this season we’ve seen a rise in maxi-length dresses or skirts and a trend in all white outfits {right in line with my spring inspiration!} Of course, a huge part of this look can be achieved only through jewelry, and Twisted has the perfect pieces to incorporate into a western-boho outfit!

I chose these Twisted pieces because of their rustic yet romantic look. I loved the Creekwalk necklace (also available as a bracelet) for its eclectic mix of rough and tumble pearls and chains, and paired it with one of my own Convertible belts (worn as a necklace) from Twisted seasons past. I also loved this Sunshine ring and mixed it with some vintage and heirloom rings of my own for a unique collection. Equestrian-like hardware in the Socket bracelet lends an interesting touch, while the pearl adorned tassle on this bangle is a neat mix between feminine and rustic metals, and ties the look together!

When wanting to create something unique and eclectic, don’t be afraid to mix your new pieces with vintage odds and ends for a completely original and inimitable look!

Other inspiring pieces that I can’t get enough of… the Cameo necklace, Whistle necklace, and Patchwork necklaces. As well as the Peace&Love earrings, Pinwheel earrings, and Belt bracelet. Last but not least my heart swoons for the Broach bracelet (perhaps my new source of summer inspiration?)

Best of Luck in your spring style endeavors!

Mischa Barton (The O.C) layered Twisted Silver's Relic Rocker necklace (not-yet-released)

Hollywood — February 14, 2011

Twisted Silver took center stage at the highly-coveted Third Annual Valentine Romance ‘Sneak Peek’ Oscar Suite Wednesday, as over 100 of Hollywood’s finest crowded to touch and feel the addictive mixed metal jewelry.

Celebs and stylists turned out to celebrate Valentine’s Day and grab a ‘sneak peak’ at what’s hot for the Oscar Red Carpet and were treated to an incredible array of gifts including tuxedos and couture gowns, the finest in skin care, fabulous footwear, romantic get-a-ways and luggage.  Held at the stunning Tuscan-country styled and world-renowned Cafe La Boheme, the day of indulgence was co-hosted by Julique® and produced by Doris Bergman and Kathy Duliakas.   Positioned in the center of the room was Twisted Silver, with an eye-catching display of trend-setting jewelry.

And catch eyes, the jewelry most certainly did.  Under the romantic lighting of crystal chandeliers, and lusciously draped tables, Twisted Silver designer, Debra Mitchell, was inundated with a constant flow of admirers.  Delighted to style some of the most sought-after stars, she decked Mischa Barton (The O.C and The Sixth Sense) in a Relic Rocker, a new not-yet-released necklace featuring a hand-forged vintage spoon and recycled glass.  Mischa loved the necklace and said, “This stuff is so cool, I’m totally putting this on right now!” — which she wore throughout the event.

Sofia Milos (CSI: Miami) obsessed over Twisted Silver in an interview saying, “Not only is Twisted Silver so cool looking, but it’s eco-friendly. More companies in the world should do that.” Sofia later told Deb, “I am so excited to wear the Horse Bit convertible tonight on the red carpet…before my friends get their own. These people are going crazy for it!”

A-list celebrity stylist, George Blodwell, was thrilled with the mixed metals and textures saying, “I think Twisted Silver is genius, and you can quote me on that.”

Topping the event off for Twisted Silver was acclaimed costume designer and 2011 Oscar nominee Jenny Beavin, who said “Oh, I love Twisted Silver, it is very textural, I will remember you.”

Other stars carefully navigating the crowd were ‘Dancing With the Stars’ beauties Anna Trebunskaya and Edyta Sliwinska, Vivica A. Fox, Billy Zane,  ‘Twilight’/’Eclipse’ hotties Michael Welch, Bronson Pelletier and Kiowa Gordon, Oscar Nominees—Producer, Dana Brunetti, Best Picture ‘Social Network’, 2011 Grammy nominee Gramma Funk, Modern Family’s Ariel Winter, Marisa Ramirez, Marilu Henner, James Kyson Lee, Kevin Eubanks, Kevin Rahm (Desperate Housewives), Oscar Nunez (The Office), and many more.

Debra Mitchell, thrilled to take part in the buzz of Oscar season was amazed by the response.  “I’m honored that so many of these people in the public eye were taking off their own jewelry and wearing mine. The star-studded suite was decked out in celebrities wearing Twisted Silver .  It’s humbling and great fun all at once,” Mitchell said.
