Twisted Silver is Dancing with the Stars in Season 14

Dancing with the Stars waltzes back into our lives on March 19 with two fierce Twisted fans: defending champion, Karina Smirnoff and veteran pro dancer, Chelsie Hightower.

It was announced live on Good Morning America today that Karina Smirnoff  will be paired in her 11th season with Gavin DeGraw, singer/songwriter of the current No. 1 platinum single, “Not Over You”.  Karina has for years been dazzled by Twisted Silver’s big statement earrings and rings, and is especially enamored with the Mum earrings  (releasing in May)

Chelsie Hightower returns for her 6th season, this time partnered with actor/hip-hop musician,  Roshon Fegan, from Disney Channel’s Shake It Up.  Chelsie, newly Twisted addicted, recently met Debra Mitchell, the creative design force behind the jewelry line, at a recent Oscar suite.  She fell fast for the Bubbles bracelet, and texted Debra a thank-you picture quickly afterwards (see below).  Check out her street style clothing line at Sugar and Bruno.

Twisted Academy Awards Red Carpet Picks

After Hollywood’s biggest night, is fashion’s biggest recap day.  Here are five that most caught our attention:

Emma Stone was perfectly playful with a vintage vibe in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture.   The feminine statement bow put herself out there, and it so worked.

Penelope Cruz was breathtaking in a  Giorgio Armani custom organza gown. We loved how she brought an element of romance to the red carpet.

Who can’t stop buzzing about Best Supporting Actress winner, Octavia Spencer?   She was simply flawless in a silver Tadashi Shoji gown that fit her in all the right places.

Gwyneth Paltrow looked simply chic and pristine with a dramatically white-caped Tom Ford Couture gown.  Not many could wear sleek white, but Gwyneth is stunningly regal.

Ellie Kemper stood out from the crowd in a fiery Armani Privé  gown of sparkling metallic bronze, yellow and orange.  Complete with her coppery hair and blunt bangs, she turned heads!

Ross Mathews Pre Red Carpet Interview with Twisted’s Designer

Afraid to wear statement jewelry? Debra Mitchell (Twisted Silver designer) and Ross Mathews (Academy Awards red carpet correspondent) say don’t make that mistake!  In an impromptu “pre-red carpet” interview at the Oscar suites this week, Ross says:

“If you’re wearing jewelry and no one notices it, I think it’s a mistake. Unless it’s sentimental, I think it’s a mistake.”

Watch the clip here:

Be sure to catch Ross Mathews on E! as he covers celebrity fashion at the Academy Awards red carpet this Sunday, February 26 at 1:30pm ET/10:30am PT (live to both coasts) alongside Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic, George Kotsiopoulos and more.

Twisted Wowed Hollywood Again

Twisted yet again wowed Hollywood at Doris Bergman’s 4th Annual Valentine Romance Oscar Style Lounge.  Celebs crowded, jockeying for position, to get glimpses of Twisted Silver’s mixed metal madness, and to be styled by Twisted founder/designer Debra Mitchell herself.

Already a Twisted fan, Karina Smirnoff (Dancing with the Stars) again fell big for our statements: the Knot ring  and the soon-to-be-released Mum earrings.

Joelle Carter (Ava Crowder on FX’s Justified) loved the XO belt/necklace convertible.  Deb showed her how to wear it as a stunning statement necklace.  Joelle Tweeted: “Met Debra from Twisted Silver @twistedrocks today, so sweet! Check out her beautiful fashion creations.”  Follow Joelle on Twitter @Joelle_Carter

Brandi Glanville (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) loved the Butterfly Cuff.  She tells us to watch for this one on screen.  (Deb tells us in person she is a really a sweet woman)

Betsy Brandt (Breaking Bad) is nuts for Twisted.  She said “I am just crazy about this (Twisted)! I love everything- your stuff is so great!”  She wouldn’t take off the Vibe ring.

Some of the coolest, toughest guys even loved Twisted, proving that Twisted is for EVERYONE.  Raphael Sbarge (Jimny Cricket on Once Upon a Time) and Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk) got a little Twisted.

Even William Shatner hung out to chat with Deb as his wife, Elizabeth, fawned over the Horsebit Belt.  The Shattners have hosted the Celebrity Horse Show Charity Event for over 20 years to benefit children’s causes, and she thought the Horsebit Belt was perfect.

Wishin’ you were there?  The next best thing is to watch this video clip (Twisted on at 4:36) and to check out more photos of even more celebs on Twisted’s Facebook page.

BCBG Max Azria Spring 2012

Spring means dresses… and BCBG Max Azria’s got us smiling…

What We Love

The bold combinations and graphic looks – in fresh geometric color-blocking with lots of draping movement – in MAXI LENGTH!

Why We Love It

Maxi dresses made the scene a few seasons back, but this spring and summer they take center stage.  And why not?  They’re so glamorous.  Depending on the neckline, waist and print, maxi’s are flattering for us all.

How to Twistify It

Big statement rings, like Twisted’s Vibe ring, balance the long hemline and underscore the glam.  Attention-grabbing earrings like the Cork earrings work for the same reason.

Vera Wang’s Spring 2012 Collection

Trees are blooming here and our minds are on spring… and Vera Wang’s spring 2012 collection.

What We Love

Layers of delicate, airy fabrics with lovely opaque transparent pastels and soft grays and intricate construction.

Why We Love It

Layers give such an ethereal, romantic feel to any body type.  Grays and structured bodices give sophistication and shape.

How To Twistify It

The Rag bracelets, made from vintage recycled bias tape in a variety of colors, pull in the soft pastel quality of Vera Wang’s look.

Twisted Silver Brings LUCKY PENNIES to GRAMMY Event

A special exclusive version of Twisted Silver’s Lucky Penny necklace is in the hands of some of music’s biggest legends who attended the MusiCares’ Person Of The Year gala Friday, honoring Paul McCartney.

Twisted Silver had the honor of participating for the sixth year in this exclusive event by be-decking the musical greats with distinctive mixed metal jewelry.  This year, in honor of Paul, Twisted Silver designer Debra Mitchell re-created the Lucky Penny necklace with all vintage pennies — a wink to “Penny Lane,” a song that she still holds close to her heart.  She also added a bit of vintage-inspired blue glass bead for the “blue suburban skies”.

Stars came out to celebrate Paul McCartney’s vast creative accomplishments and charitable work:  Cold Play, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Foo Fighters, Yoko Ono, Alicia Keys, Alison Krauss, Nora Jones, Katy Perry and Roseanna Arquette were among the guests celebrating.
